Twins vs Blue Jays Preview
I’m taking a look at our old friend Patrick Corbin, who is making his first start for the Blue Jays against the Twins today.
Corbin was kind of a whipping boy for our staff during his time in Washington, but he actually made us eat crow a little bit last year in Texas.
To be clear, he wasn't a "good" pitcher — he was actually a negative WAR player — but his results were much better than what we saw toward the end of his stint with the Nationals.
Even with those better results, I’m fading him in the walks department today, as he is making his season debut after the first turn through the rotation, a perfect spot to target these props.
Even during his quasi-career renaissance last year, Corbin sported his highest walk rate since 2020, and there is no reason to think he won't be wild today in his first start with his new team.
