For my Wednesday MLB player props, I'll be targeting Juan Soto, Jeremiah Jackson, and Bo Bichette.

The Mets have taken the first two games from the Tigers while scoring 22 runs in the process. Juan Soto has led the way with two hits and a home run in both games. He hit a grand slam on Monday while driving in six and added another RBI with his solo shot last night. Soto is up to 37 home runs, 91 RBI, and a .923 OPS, which all rank in the top 12 in the MLB.

Today, he faces Casey Mize, who has continued to struggle mightily since the All-Star break. Last time out, he gave up seven hits and five earned runs in 3 and 1/3 innings, his fifth outing with three earned runs in his last seven starts. He has allowed left-handed hitters to hit .267 with 23 extra-base hits, including seven home runs. Mize is also below average in both barrel rate and average exit velocity allowed.

He will have to deal with Soto, who ranks in the 97th percentile or better in xBA, xSLG, average exit velocity, barrel rate, and hard hit percentage. Soto is 1-for-3 against Mize entering today's game. He has 29 of his home runs against right-handed pitchers to go along with a 1.000 OPS.

He has been particularly hot of late, with five home runs and 12 RBI over his last five games. In that span, he has recorded two total bases in four of those games while averaging 5.2 per game. While I like him to homer again (+310 on DraftKings), a double would also get us two total bases today.

Orioles vs Padres Player Props: Expect Jackson to Continue Hitting Trend

Few players have been as productive as Jeremiah Jackson so far. The 25-year-old is hitting .333 with four home runs, 17 RBI, and a .897 OPS in 102 ABs. He enters today's game riding a 13-game hitting streak, having hit a home run in his last two at-bats. Five of Jackson's 12 hits against left-handed pitchers have gone for extra bases, contributing to six runs scored and seven RBI.

Today, he will face Nestor Cortes, who has strong numbers in his career against Baltimore but has not faced Jackson. This season, Cortes has reverse splits in a small sample size, but four of the nine home runs he has allowed have been to right-handed hitters in addition to 10 runs scored and RBI. Over the prior two years, 31 of the 35 home runs he allowed were to right-handed hitters.

Jackson has two hits in three of his last six games. That has helped record two hits, runs, and RBI in five of those games. I expect the trend to continue today.

Blue Jays vs Reds Player Props: Bichette to Benefit From Littell Matchup

At the trade deadline, the Reds acquired Zack Littell from Tampa. In his lone start against Toronto this year, he picked up a win, but still allowed eight hits and three runs in 7 and 1/3 innings. One Blue Jays hitter that gave him trouble when he was in the AL East is Bo Bichette.

The Blue Jays broke last night's game open when Bichette blasted a three-run homer to give the Blue Jays a three-run lead. Those three runs would prove to be pivotal as the Blue Jays held on to a 12-9 victory. Bichette is hitting .310 and is up to 18 home runs and 91 RBIs on the year. He ranks third in the MLB in batting average and leads the MLB in hits, which he is on pace to do for the third time.

Bichette has a hit in 16 of his last 17 games with 19 hits over his last 10 games. In that span, he is averaging 3.7 hits + runs + runs batted in per game. He should be in a good spot today against Littell, whom he is 5-for-11 against. Littell has actually been worse against right-handed hitters, as they are hitting .260 with 42 runs scored, 18 home runs, and 42 RBI against him. With three at-bats against him, Bichette should clear this line once again.
