The 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season gets underway with Sunday's Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum and includes a handful of firsts.
For example, this will be the first race for NASCAR's Next-Gen car while also being the first event held at the LA Coliseum.
In addition, the format will be unique as it includes heat races and a last-chance qualifier ahead of tonight's main event (click here for the full Busch Light Clash schedule and format).
Busch Light Clash qualifying took place last night with Kyle Busch posting the fastest time, so it's not all that surprising to see him as the new race favorite with +550 odds.
From a NASCAR betting perspective, it's important to note that the Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum heat races get underway at 3 p.m. ET, meaning that will likely be the time that sportsbooks take odds off the board.
My assumption/hope is that shops will post updated Busch Light Clash odds following the heat races and ahead of the main event, which is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. ET (FOX), but the window is so short that there's no guarantee it will happen.
