This is an overreaction to Brandon Ingram being hurt after leaving Saturday’s game with an ankle injury. Murphy simply is not seeing this as part of his role when playing alongside of Dejounte Murray - that is the critical piece. When playing next to Dejounte, he has exceeded this 8.5 line in just 1/5 games and the over was at 9 where he secured 9 rebounds on 9 rebound chances. His other games were at 6, 6, 4, and 5 RA. If Ingram is able to go, he recorded just 4 and 5 in those two games with both Murray and BI. The Spurs have been poor defending the SF position, but I’d expect more from Murphy as a spot up shooting threat as opposed to a wheel and boards guy today.
