Kansas State vs Nebraska College Basketball Betting Preview
Kansas State might have had the best offseason pickup with shooting guard PJ Haggerty.
Now at his fourth school in as many years, the first five games have been his best collegiate start to a season. He’s averaging over 28 points a game and receiving plenty of support, with four teammates averaging double-digits.
Kansas State has scored more than 93 points in four of its five games. The Wildcats' biggest strength is their core, built mainly from the transfer portal, which gives them a ton of experience.
Outside of that, their depth might be called into question. They’ve been able to escape with their level of competition so far, but this Nebraska team will present a real test.
Nebraska brings in a frontcourt that will be one of the best in the Big Ten, led by one-time Bradley standout, Rienk Mast. This Nebraska team also shows some depth and the ability to draw opponents into guarding its frontcourt, creating some open looks for its backcourt.
I don’t think either team has been tested much this season, and this game can be a real measuring stick. Both teams play with a bit of tempo, so shot volume will be plenty. The total sitting at 169.5 might also be a way to go.
The most confident bet for me in this game will be with the Wildcats. The spread is only a point, so I'll take the moneyline to avoid paying the juice.
It should be a close game, but I expect a big performance from Kansas State's starting five, so depth won’t be an issue in this game.
My Pick: Kansas State ML +105
