I project this total at around 149.7 points, so I'd play the Under at 153 or better.
All three head-to-head meetings between Kevin Broadus and Robert Jones stayed Under the closing total last season, with both offenses struggling mightily to crack the opposing coach’s zone defense.
I’m terrified of betting an Under between two teams that spend so much time in transition. Norfolk should eat in the open court, on the offensive glass, and at the free-throw line.
But I don’t believe in Morgan State’s offense, which spends too much time in isolation to effectively create against a zone defense. Unless the Bears hit a bunch of 3s, they might not break 70 — I only project them scoring 1.03 PPP across 69 possessions.
At the same time, Norfolk should be due for a bit of negative shooting regression after its 14-for-26 3-point shooting performance against Coppin State.
Ultimately, I’m trusting my numbers and banking on a lower-scoring, inefficient interior ballgame between these two MEAC foes.
