UCF vs Texas A&M College Basketball Betting Preview

UCF Basketball

UCF has gotten off to a pretty good start this season, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

The Knights' issues, however, lie on the defense. They gave up 105 points to Vandy on their own home court.

Their biggest weakness has to be their death, as they rely heavily on the top six of their rotation. That'll become even more worrisome as they get deeper into non-conference play.

They're also a mixed bag when it comes to shooting. They're pretty decent from the floor (over 56%), but they only shoot about 70% from the charity stripe.

The Aggies started the season with two straight wins, but their last game was marked by turnovers. This team has struggled to control the basketball, averaging over 11 giveaways.

The one positive looking ahead is they have an easy remaining non-conference slate before SEC play in order to potentially fix these issues.

Their strengths might outweigh all the turnover problems, though. A&M is deep, with five players averaging double digits in points right now.

While A&M will struggle to avoid turnovers, that's partly due to its transition chaos. The Aggies create a ton of turnovers and play in transition often, so the chaotic pace is sometimes hard to contend with.

Expect a sloppy game, but that actually might play into what the Aggies like to do.

UCF vs. Texas A&M Betting Analysis

This matchup will be a strength-on-strength duel, as both teams rebound the ball pretty well.

I’m not sure I can lay double digits with the Aggies.

While the Knights' depth is questionable, they also present five double-digit scorers and average 18 assists a game.

This is more of a spot play since we really don't know which teams we'll get in this non-conference game. But the confidence is high that double digits are way too many for the Aggies to cover.

My Pick: UCF +10 (Play to +8)
