VCU vs Virginia Tech College Basketball Betting Preview

Both teams are heading into their final game of the Battle 4 Atlantis after tough losses. Losing to Saint Mary’s won’t hurt Virginia Tech's resume, and the same can be said for VCU losing to Vanderbilt.

We do find solace in both of their performances to take the over in this game.

Both teams rank in the top third in terms of average possession length, and I expect that trend to continue.

Virginia Tech has been able to score at least 84 points in all but its last two games. VCU has also scored at least 74 in every game.

We also get a little blast from the past, as the Rams' defense has brought back its full-court pressure havoc defense. That speeds the game up, and offers plenty of chances for chaotic sequences, so we should see some high-percentage opportunities on both sides.

VCU also does a great job at getting to the free throw line (19th-best in the nation).

Both teams also do a tremendous job at shooting the long ball.

There will be plenty of shot volume, with enough pace, for this to be a high-scoring game.

My Pick: Over 154.5 (Play to 156)
