Last year, the Iron Bowl was the biggest game of college football's final regular season week. This year, it lacks the same drama, with 65% of bettors backing the Crimson Tide in a game that doesn't have much meaning in the SEC landscape.
Alabama opened -24.5 over Auburn on Saturday — the second-largest spread in the Iron Bowl since at least 1980. That's a 15.5-point move from the summer, when sportsbooks made Alabama a 9-point favorite.
The line move is equal parts Alabama exceeding expectations and Auburn falling well short of them this year.

9 a.m. ET: There hasn't been much movement in Alabama-Auburn so far this morning. Several books went down to -23 and -23.5 after taking some Tigers money mid-week, but it bounced back up quickly to -24.5.
