Nevada vs North Dakota State College Football Preview

Nevada Wolf Pack Betting Preview
The Wolf Pack head to Fargo with some momentum after a 30-13 road win over UTEP. Herschel Turner ran for a career-high 192 yards, and his 72-yard touchdown run broke the game open in the third quarter.
Nevada piled up 274 rushing yards and 376 total yards in that win, with Dominic Kelley adding 99 yards on the ground plus a receiving touchdown. The ground game has been the strength of this offense, which ranks 57th nationally in rushing at 196.8 yards per game.
This offense has also shown it can score in bunches. Nevada opened the season by hanging 49 points on Western Kentucky and put up 33 in a shootout loss to Air Force that went over the total.
North Dakota State Bison Betting Preview
The Bison, meanwhile, are 5-1 in their first season in the FBS and the Mountain West. They’re coming off their first loss of the year, a 13-7 defeat at UNLV.
That game was an outlier for NDSU’s offense more than a reflection of what it can do. UNLV’s only touchdown came on a 23-yard interception return, and a failed fourth-and-1 at the Bison’s own 18 set up a late field goal. Before that, NDSU had put up 33 points against Jacksonville State, 31 at Sacramento State and 28 against Wyoming.
The Bison’s identity is a steady ground game that averages 171 rushing yards per game, led by DJ Scott and Myles Mitchell. Now they return home to the Fargodome, where they’re 3-0 this season.

Nevada vs North Dakota State Pick, Betting Analysis
Evan Abrams' "Beware of Falling Totals" system isolates an edge by targeting the Over when the total has dropped meaningfully, but not dramatically, from open to close.
In college football, a significant drop in the total from open to close usually reflects heavy betting on the Under, often driven by weather concerns, injuries, or perceived matchup issues. These moves can overstate the expected decline in scoring.
When the adjustment is meaningful but not extreme, offenses can still clear the lowered number, especially when the move was fueled by public overreaction rather than real changes to the game.
This setup applies directly to Saturday night’s matchup in Fargo. The total opened at 46.5 and has fallen to 42.5. That four-point drop looks like a reaction to NDSU’s 7-point showing in Las Vegas, not a change in either team’s offensive profile.
Conditions won’t be a factor either. This game is played indoors at the Fargodome, so there’s no wind or weather to justify a lower total. Nevada brings a rushing attack coming off a 274-yard performance, and NDSU’s offense has scored 28 or more in four of its six games.
With the market overcorrecting to one low-scoring result and a climate-controlled setting, there’s value in buying the lower number.
Pick: Over 42.5
