The Nevada Wolf Pack don’t have the prowess of some southern schools when it comes to football but have periodically been a contender within the Mountain West Conference

Unfortunately, in 2023 the Wolf Pack were unable to make it to a bowl game, finishing with a 2-6 conference record and a 2-10 record overall including four losses to end the year.

That said, last year was an anomaly for the Wolf Pack as they’ve remained competitive with the best teams in the MWC like Boise State, San Jose State and UNLV among others.

Given the struggles last year, the Wolf Pack will have the work cut out for them in the 2024 season but have a chance to make it up the board to the top of the power ratings

We’ll go over the best possible bets on all things Nevada Wolf Pack in the subsections below.

Nevada Wolf Pack bets

If you’re interested in betting on Nevada in any capacity but unsure where to start, we’ve got you covered. There are nuances to all of the markets we’ll outline but generally you can try your hand at futures markets like MWC championship odds, college football playoff odds or more individualized markets like Heisman odds

Beyond just that, there are team based markets like spreads, moneylines and totals

While player props are very relevant with professional betting, they’re less common in collegiate betting largely because they’re less accessible but you can review which state allows for college props here

Betting the Nevada moneyline

Moneyline wagers are an excellent entry point into collegiate sports betting. Put simply, it’s a bet on the winner of a game. The odds are displayed either positively or negatively for underdogs and favorites, respectively.

While moneylines are very common, they don’t often pay out as well as other markets unless you bet on a heavy underdog. That said, they make an excellent leg of a parlay and can be useful with specific promotions.

If you’re apprehensive about wading into the waters with a parlay, check out the Action Network Parlay Calculator to make it a bit easier.

For example, with the bet365 bonus code bet insurance promotion a moneyline wager on an underdog would be ideal. Similarly, with the FanDuel promo code bet and get, you’ll want to bet on a favorite to give yourself the best chance to win the wager and collect the bonus bets, thus a moneyline is ideal.

This is what a typical Nevada Wolf Pack moneyline wager would look like at sportsbooks like BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook, ESPN BET or others:

Nevada +440

Air Force -200

In the example above, Nevada would be a significant underdog and Boise State would be the expected winner.

Betting on the spread with Nevada

Point spreads can be a bit more complex but are still a solid entry point. Betting the spread is wagering on the point differential between the winning and losing team. The phrase “covering the spread” refers to a team either winning or losing by more or less than expected.

We’ll use a similar example as the one above to demonstrate.

Nevada +6.5 (-110)

Fresno State  -6.5 (-110)

The parenthetical number refers to the odds and payout. In this case the odds are the same for each as is often the case with point spread bets. In the matchup above, Fresno State is a favorite so betting on Nevada to cover would mean a wager on the Wolf Pack to lose by six of less.

Conversely, betting on Fresno State to cover is betting on the Bulldogs to win by at least seven or more.

If this is all a bit cumbersome, luckily there are several Action Network tools you can use to determine odds and payouts like the betting calculator or a quick overview on American odds.

Betting the total with Nevada

The total — often called the over/under — is another relevant college football market. This is less about the winner or loser and more about the point total, hence the name. A bet on the over means you expect the collective total to exceed what sportsbooks have predicated. A bet on the under is the inverse, you expect it to be less than the outlined total from sportsbooks.

Say the Wolf Pack are facing off against the Hawaii Warriors for the Mountain West Championship. The total is listed as 42.5 so betting the over means you’d win if the score of both teams adds up to 43 or more. Betting the under means you only win if the score is 42 points or under.

Over 42.5 (-115)

Under 42.5 (-105)

As is the case with point spread bets, that parenthetical number indicates your payout. So betting the over means you’d need to wager $115 in cash to get $100 in profit, the under means you’d need to bet $105 in cash to get $100 in profit.

Player props with Nevada

Finally, we have player props. In collegiate athletics, player props are far less common as many states that allow online sports betting specifically prohibit college player props for a variety of reasons.

Player props are a wager on a specific statline for a specific player. It can be something as general as passing yards or something more granular like receptions in the fourth quarter.

That said, the increased popularity of DFS with operators like PrizePicks live in nearly three dozen states means that there are some options.

You can review which states allow college props here.
