South Florida Bulls Betting Preview: Explosive and Unbothered

For South Florida, the 2025 season has been a fun ride.

After surviving a nonconference gauntlet that included Boise State and in-state foes Florida and Miami (with two outright wins), USF gave itself a path to a College Football Playoff berth.

It was favored to earn the Group of Five CFP bid for several weeks before the unfortunate loss to Memphis.

The Bulls received a buffer when Memphis dropped consecutive games to Tulane and East Carolina. However, they could not corral Navy's triple-option attack, as the Midshipmen rushed for 338 yards (524 total) and four touchdowns on the ground.

This time, Byrum Brown could not save them, as Navy held on for a 41-38 victory.

With its AAC title hopes and a CFP berth on the brink, you have to wonder how motivated USF is for the rest of the season.

However, it still has one of the nation's top offenses.

South Florida ranks fifth in the FBS in scoring offense at 41.6 points per game. Brown has thrown for 2,530 yards, 21 touchdowns, and seven interceptions while adding 841 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground. He extended his streak of throwing and running for a touchdown to six games, throwing for 327 yards and rushing for 136 last week.

His top target is wide receiver Chas Nimrod, who has 23 receptions for 466 yards and three touchdowns. However, he has not played since USF's October 10 victory over North Texas and is listed as questionable this week with a leg injury.

Keshon Singleton now leads the team with 38 receptions for 659 yards and six touchdowns. He has 60 yards or more in each of his past four games.

Underclassmen Jeremiah Koger and Nykahi Davenport have stepped up as well.

Koger has 75 receiving yards and a touchdown in five of his last six games, including 112 last week. Davenport has run for 60 yards in four of his last six games, with four touchdowns in that span.

The duo gives head coach Alex Golesh an exciting tandem to build around.

UAB Blazers Betting Preview: Defense in Freefall

After playing in five bowl games in six years, UAB will miss a bowl game for the third consecutive year.

Generally, offense has not been the issue, as it's averaging about 27 points per game. It has reached 20 points in seven of 10 games this season.

UTEP transfer Jevon Jackson has run for 751 yards and three rushing touchdowns while playing back in his home state. Iverson Hooks has broken out this season with 57 receptions for 735 yards and six touchdowns, shattering his previous career highs. The duo gives UAB a strong offensive tandem.

However, it has hemorrhaged too many points to stay competitive.

UAB is allowing 38.7 points per game, the second-most among FBS teams. It ranks 116th nationally in total defense, surrendering 227.5 yards through the air and 190.4 on the ground.

That means it would appear to have an awful matchup with an offense led by a quarterback with Brown's dual-threat capabilities.

The Blazers may struggle to put much pressure on Brown this week. They have just 14 sacks this season and rank 131st nationally in Havoc. As a result, they also rank 94th in Explosiveness Allowed and 133rd in Success Rate allowed.

USF vs UAB Pick, Betting Analysis

In September, UAB went to Knoxville and lost 56-24 to Tennessee.

Golesh came from Tennessee, and his Bulls now run a similar offense.

While USF may not be able to match Tennessee's skill talent, it does have the best offense in the AAC.

South Florida has scored 30 points in eight of 10 games this season. It has scored 46 or more in five of its last seven games, averaging over 50 points per game in that span.

Meanwhile, UAB has allowed 50 points twice in conference play. That includes 53 to North Texas last week, another one of the AAC's top offenses.

South Florida's offense should roll this week, even if it starts slow — it ranks fifth in the FBS with 19.8 second-half points per game.

Pick: USF TT Over 45.5
