You may be familiar with our weekly moneyline underdog article. Well, we decided a couple of years ago that we needed to show love for the other side by also sharing our two favorite college football favorites that we share weekly on the "Big Bets on Campus" podcast.

We affectionately refer to them as "overdogs," thanks to one of our beloved callers. To kick off the chalk talk this week, we're rolling with one Power 4 favorite in the Big 12 and one Group of 6 favorite in the American Conference.

Let's dive into our Week 8 college football picks and NCAAF predictions for West Virginia vs. TCU and North Texas vs. Navy on Saturday, Oct. 24.

I’m going to take TCU here.

West Virginia has a 74% rush rate, and that just isn’t going to work against the Horned Frogs. TCU ranks 10th in Rushing Success Rate allowed and 10th in Rushing EPA allowed.

The linebackers have been excellent in run support and in filling the gaps on that defense, so I’m backing the Horned Frogs all the way.

I grabbed this number at -8 early in the week, and it’s up to -11 now. I think -11 is where I’d stop buying, because that’s where I have it power-rated.

Pick: TCU -10.5

I feel like Commie Wilson here. I’m fading Navy and going with North Texas -2.5.

The Mean Green are coming off a bye with extra prep time to get ready for this Navy offense, which is basically Jackson Gutierrez running the ball. He’s been really good in that department, but opponents only have to stop one guy in this Navy offense.

And I still think North Texas is undervalued in the market just because it came into the year so low. This offense should rip apart the Navy secondary.

Quarterback Tayven Jackson has been incredible, and he should be able to do whatever he wants against the Midshipmen defense.

I respect the Navy home-field advantage, but I make this over three. I think it’s a good spot for North Texas, so give me the Mean Green.

Pick: North Texas -2.5
