DraftKings Partners with Scarlet Pearl Casino to Launch Sportsbook in Mississippi
- DraftKings announced that is has partnered with the Scarlet Pearl Casino and Resorts in Mississippi and will be launching a sportsbook on Nov. 16.
- This is the second state in which DraftKings will be offering sports betting, as the company has been operating in New Jersey since the start of the 2018-19 football season.
DraftKings has taken another measure to penetrate the sports-gambling industry.
The daily fantasy sports superstar announced on Monday that it has partnered with the Scarlet Pearl Casino and Resort in D’Iberville, Mississippi and is set to open a new sportsbook on Friday.
DraftKings is still new to sports betting, but has been operating in New Jersey over the past couple of months.
Per its press release, “DraftKings at Scarlet Pearl Sportsbook will offer a superior customer experience that includes the opportunity to wager on dozens of sports. In addition, the sportsbook will soon offer live, in-game betting with three windows, giving sports fans a variety of ways to place their bets. Pending regulatory approval, the sportsbook will incorporate on-site kiosks and an on-premise mobile app.”
Nicholas Sfanos, who previously worked for Stations Casinos in Nevada, will run the shop as Sportsbook Director.
Mississippi launched sports betting on Aug. 1, approximately a month and a half after New Jersey.
This news comes shortly after DraftKings’ announcement of its latest offering — Sportsbook Pools. This creative new format will pay winners large DFS-like winnings for correctly picking a set amount of outcomes.
The new Sportsbook Pools game launched in New Jersey on Nov. 8, but there is no word yet on whether it will be offered in Mississippi.
