Fanatics Sportsbook’s industry-leading Fair Play policy continued to deliver big wins for customers throughout May, refunding more than $1.27 million across 62 player exits and protecting roughly 80,000 wagers.

The policy, which refunds straight player prop bets and voids the affected leg in parlays when a player exits in the first or second quarter/period due to injury and is ruled out for the rest of the game, has now paid out well over $11 million year-to-date and more than $44 million all-time.

May saw a particularly high volume of activations, with 30 of the 62 Fair Play exits coming from soccer.

That momentum heads into June’s World Cup, where Fanatics has confirmed Fair Play protection will be active, offering bettors extra peace of mind during the global event.

Standout Moment: Jalen Williams Exits Early

The single largest payout of the month came on May 20 during Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs. Thunder guard Jalen Williams left in the first half with a recurring hamstring issue and did not return.

That one injury triggered approximately $843,000 in Fair Play refunds — the biggest single exit of the period.

Williams, who had already missed multiple playoff games earlier in the postseason, became the poster child for why the policy matters. Bettors who had loaded up on his props walked away whole instead of watching their tickets die.

Why Bettors Love Fair Play

Unlike traditional sportsbooks, where an early injury can wipe out entire parlays or straight bets, Fanatics Fair Play gives customers a true safety net:

  • Straight props → Full refund
  • Parlays & SGPs → Injured player’s leg is voided; the rest of the bet lives on

This protection has proven especially valuable during injury-prone stretches in the NBA playoffs, end-of-season soccer matches, and other major sports.

With the NBA Finals tipping off tomorrow and the World Cup kicking off in less than two weeks, expect even more opportunities for Fair Play to step in and protect your bets.

Fanatics continues to stand out as the only major sportsbook offering this level of built-in insurance at no extra cost to you.
