Palms Casino Resort will celebrate the opening of a new 7,300-square-foot non-smoking gaming area tomorrow, adding 224 slot machines, a full-service bar, and a permanent food truck. The property will also mark the occasion with a charity slot tournament benefiting 10 Southern Nevada organizations.
The grand opening is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Palms Casino in Las Vegas.
The fully enclosed gaming space is designed for guests seeking a smoke-free casino experience. Located near the William Hill Sportsbook, it will feature 224 recently released and popular slot titles.
Palms Casino Also Adds Full-Service Bar
In addition to the slot floor, the new area will include its own full-service bar, giving players another dedicated place to order cocktails and specialty beverages without leaving the gaming space.
The expansion reflects continued demand for more non-smoking gaming options in Las Vegas. While many casino resorts offer designated smoke-free sections, Palms Casino Resort’s new enclosed area creates a separate environment built specifically around slot play, drinks and casual dining.
“Guest feedback drives so much of what we do, and expanding our non-smoking gaming options is something we’ve heard consistently,” Palms Casino Resort General Manager Kevin Glass said. “This new space combines over 200 of the latest games, a dedicated bar, and a new gaming experience to create an entirely new way to play at Palms.”
Palms executives are expected to discuss the project and the property’s push to provide additional non-smoking options during the opening celebration.
Charity Slot Challenge Headlines Grand Opening
The official debut will include the first Spin It Forward IGT Charity Slot Challenge, which will bring local Las Vegas personalities to Palms Casino Resort to play slot machines on behalf of 10 Southern Nevada nonprofits.
Every participating organization will receive a $2,500 donation from the San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority. IGT will also provide $1,000 in slot play to each charity.
Organizations can choose to take the guaranteed $1,000 contribution or allow a local personality to play slots on their behalf in an effort to increase that total. Charity representatives will be on hand to support their players during the event.
The casino most recently made headlines after awarding a record-setting baccarat jackpot last May. A woman's hand triggered the top prize on the game’s progressive jackpot meter.
Al Vapor Street Tacos Debuts at Palms Casino Resort
The celebration will also introduce a permanent Al Vapor Street Tacos food truck. The truck will operate from the patio outside the new non-smoking gaming space and will be open during the Sept. 1 grand-opening event.
The addition gives guests a convenient food option near the slots, sportsbook and bar. It also adds another casual dining choice to Palms Casino Resort’s collection of restaurants and gaming-adjacent amenities.
