Resorts World New York City has opened its International Room, a high-limit gaming area with private salons, personalized service and around-the-clock dining in Queens.
The space is nearly 14.000 -square-feet, and Queens-born rapper Nas attended the unveiling. The opening comes as the New York casino celebrates its 15th anniversary and moves forward with a broader resort expansion.
Resorts World New York City is already taking the lead in The Big Apple's young downstate market. It became the first of New York City’s three new downstate commercial casinos to begin full commercial casino operations. In fact, the company has already broken ground on phase 2 of the expansion plan.
Inside the International Room at Resorts World New York City
The International Room features 48 table games and three private gaming salons, with high-limit baccarat, roulette and blackjack among the offerings, according to the company.
Guests have access to dedicated hosts, premium beverage service and hot and cold food available 24 hours a day without leaving the gaming floor. The private salons can be reserved for a more personalized experience, including entertainment options such as karaoke.
The new area is designed for players seeking greater privacy and more individual attention than they would typically find on the main casino floor.
Meghan Taylor, senior vice president of government affairs and public relations, described the opening as a step toward the company’s goal of building a full-scale resort in Queens.
“Until today, players who wanted this level of service had to leave the city to find it,” Taylor said. “Now we can offer the personal, high-touch hospitality guests expect in other destinations, which raises the bar for what’s possible in New York City.”

New York Casino Expands Its Gaming Floor
The International Room is part of a larger expansion of the property’s first floor. Resorts World said the broader project is bringing 57 additional table games and 147 additional slot machines online.
The additions will bring the property’s total to nearly 300 live table games and more than 4,000 slot machines, according to the company.
The expansion reflects an effort to attract more high-limit players while adding dining and hospitality services alongside gaming.
“We are extremely proud of the speed with which we have built and opened this incredible space that offers a new and uplifted experience to our players,” said Robert DeSalvio, president of development for Genting Americas East.

Nas Joins Resorts World NYC’s Anniversary Celebration
Nas attended the Oct. 22 unveiling as Resorts World marked 15 years in Southeast Queens. His appearance connected the event with the borough’s music and cultural history.
The property opened in 2011 and has since expanded its gaming, dining, entertainment and hotel offerings. The company said it welcomes millions of guests each year.
The International Room opened fewer than seven months after Resorts World began operating as a full-fledged casino, according to the announcement. That transition marked a new stage for the property ahead of its larger development plans.
Larger Queens Resort Expansion Remains Underway
The International Room is one part of a planned $5.5 billion integrated resort development. The company broke ground on the project’s second phase in July.
Plans call for a 7,000-seat arena, dozens of bars and restaurants, 2,000 hotel rooms and 11 acres of green space. Those features are planned for the broader development and were not part of the International Room opening.
For Resorts World New York City, the new gaming area adds a more private option as the company works to expand the Queens property beyond its casino floor.
