As we look to make a Patriots vs. Titans pick in NFL preseason action on Friday night, we're set to examine a matchup between two 1-1 teams that are looking to end their August schedules well.

Let's dig into the Patriots vs. Titans odds and make a betting pick.

Patriots vs. Titans

Matchup Analysis

Mike Vrabel said that we may see Ryan Tannehill make his preseason debut. If he plays, it would be Tannehill’s first preseason action since 2019.

The Titans quarterback situation is already settled, but Vrabel thinks it’s advantageous for Tannehill to get snaps with his new offensive line and offensive coordinator. Rookie Will Levis will not be available after he sustained a lower-body injury in practice last week. There's a good chance we'll see a heavy dose of Malik Willis in the preseason finale.

The Patriots haven’t made their plans as clear as the Titans.

Mac Jones took two sacks for a total of 20 yards lost last week. Because of this, the Patriots worry about the protection Jones will receive if he plays. It's clear Jones is New England's starting quarterback, so the Pats want to make sure he is healthy ahead of the regular season.

Bet New England vs. Tennessee at FanDuel

Patriots +1.5

Titans -1.5

The Titans have done a great job controlling the time of possession battle and have held possession for over half of the game in both preseason contests. Also, Tennessee's defense only allowed the Bears to convert 33% of third downs and held the Vikings to a 23% conversion rate.

Additionally, both sides of the ball have remained very disciplined for Tennessee, committing less than 50 penalty yards in each of their preseason contests.

Patriots quarterbacks have struggled so far in the preseason. In their first game, they struggled to extend drives, only tallying nine first downs and accruing a disappointing 27:32 time of possession. In Week 2, New England's QBs improved and amassed 245 net yards while averaging 4.5 yards per play.

Betting Picks & Predictions

Mac Jones' absence makes a difference here. The Titans seem a bit more willing to get their starters reps, which is understandable with the hiring of offensive coordinator Tim Kelly.

The wrong team is favored, so I'm betting the Titans to come out on top.

We've seen a lot of line movement throughout the day with action coming in on the Titans. I'd still bet Tennessee's moneyline to -130.

Pick: Titans ML -120 (Bet to -130)
