The 49ers are the last undefeated team in the NFL thanks to one of the league's most disruptive defensive lines and some improved play from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. On Monday, they host division rival Seahawks, who are receiving a MVP-caliber season from quarterback Russell Wilson.

Will the Niners defense smother Wilson en route to their ninth consecutive win? Or is it wiser to bank on Seattle to snap the league's longest winning streak?

Our experts analyze every angle of this matchup and make their picks.

Monday Night Football Injury Report

Which team is healthier? Seahawks

The Seahawks are essentially fully healthy with just safety Delano Hill (elbow) listed as questionable. Additionally, newly acquired wide receiver Josh Gordon (ankle) isn’t listed on the injury report.

The 49ers are somewhat banged up. Most notably, star tight end George Kittle is listed as doubtful with a knee injury. On a positive note, cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon (foot) is listed as questionable along with offensive linemen Joe Staley (leg) and Mike McGlinchey (knee). All three players have been out over the last few weeks. Justin Bailey

Biggest Mismatch

49ers D-Line vs. Seattle O-Line

One of the reasons the 49ers have been so dominant is because of their defensive line, which features four former first-round picks in Nick Bosa (2019), DeForrest Buckner (2016), Arik Armstead (2015) and ex-Chief Dee Ford (2014). All four grade out top 12 at their position from Pro Football Focus, with Bosa, Ford and Armstead in the top eight.

You wouldn’t necessarily know it thanks to Wilson’s brilliance, but Seattle’s offensive line has struggled this season. Per Football Outsides, the Seahawks are ranked 30th in adjusted sack rate (7.5%) while the 49ers swarming unit leads the league in that metric.

San Francisco is less effective against the run, where base-package guys like D.J. Jones and Solomon Thomas get more reps but aren’t as dominant. Still, the San Francisco D-line is ranked 15th in adjusted line yards allowed (4.27), which still ranks ahead of Seattle’s O-line in the same metric (4.14, 23rd).

Seattle is also dealing with the loss of center Justin Britt, which also hurts in the run game because replacement Joey Hunt doesn’t have great size to combat San Francisco's monstrous defensive front. –Chris Raybon

Sean Koerner's Projected Odds

  • Projected Spread: 49ers -6.5
  • Projected Total: 45

The MNF total has been bet up from 44.5 to 47.5 with 74% of the tickets and 50% of the money coming in on the over as of writing (see live public betting data here), and it might get pushed up even more before kickoff.

These are two of the slower-paced teams in the league with Seattle ranking 21st and San Francisco ranking 27th. It’s also worth noting that the Niners become the NFL’s slowest-paced team when leading while the Seahawks fall to 28th when losing.

Expert Picks

Travis Reed: Over 47.5

In what should be a very entertaining matchup on Monday Night Football, this over/under instantly caught my eye. The consensus line opened at 44 and the market quickly moved it up earlier in the week.

The Bet Labs model that I use to simulate the season projects this total at 51, making this the largest edge on the board for Week 10. In what the public may see as a matchup between two defensive powerhouses just a few years ago now features two prolific offenses, including an MVP candidate in Russell Wilson.

I took the over at open but would still recommend a bet on the over up to 47.5.
