Lehecka vs Zverev Preview, Prediction

By: Tudor Cosma

Jiri Lehecka Betting Preview

Lehecka is a very solid player who is closing in on the top 10. He has one of the best serves, which helps him on grass, but he’s also very solid and effective from the baseline.

I don’t know how far he’ll be able to go — I don’t expect him to win Grand Slams — but it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if he had some excellent tournaments, in which he could give players like Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz a run for their money.

After all, Jiri is young, from the same generation as them, so he has room to grow. His game is based primarily on his serve, one of the most effective on the tour. However, he also seems very solid from the baseline to me — hard to get past — without committing too many unforced errors.

The fact that he’s relatively short — at least compared to some of his opponents, including today’s — isn’t a major disadvantage for him. On the contrary, with a lower center of gravity, he can be more agile on the court.

Last season was pretty good, with a grass-court final at Queen’s, where he took a set from Alcaraz, but in the deciding set he couldn’t keep up the pace. He also reached an indoor final in Brussels, plus the quarterfinals at the US Open.

Alexander Zverev Betting Preview

Alexander Zverev is coming off his first Grand Slam title at Roland Garros. With that victory, he has become a well-rounded player on his resume, having won titles including the ATP Finals and an Olympic gold medal.

This is well-deserved for a well-rounded tennis player whose game has few weaknesses. Alexander is destined to become a Hall of Famer, as he is one of the few players in history to have won titles in every category: ATP 250, 500, Masters, Grand Slam, and ATP Finals, and he also won a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics.

Before this title in Paris, he had played in three Grand Slam finals, all of which he lost. He had a reputation as a mentally weak athlete who couldn’t focus at key moments and who squandered the opportunities presented to him. With this title, he has demonstrated how much he has progressed and matured.

It remains to be seen whether this title will help him in the future. In theory, with more self-confidence and free from pressure, he should play even better. However, there have also been examples where the effect was the opposite, and motivation vanished.

Speaking of his game, Alexander has one of the best serves in the world, which is to be expected given that he is a giant at 1.98. But even though he’s so tall, he’s very agile and quick on the baseline. That’s why he’s so good on any surface, from clay to this grass.

Lehecka vs Zverev Predictions, Betting Analysis

Lehecka has dropped only one set from the baseline all tournament and seems confident. He recently lost to Ben Shelton, but it was 6-7 in the deciding set. I expect him to win at least one set today as well.

Zverev's play is solid, and he has dropped only one set (to Alexander Blockx) at Wimbledon. However, he lost a break in every match, and yesterday against Marcos Giron, he was rather lackluster in the third set.

I think we’ll see a closely contested match going to at least four sets. Therefore, I believe there will be over 37.5 games in the match.

Pick: Over 37.5 (-185, DraftKings)
