Kostyuk vs Swiatek Preview, Prediction

By: Tudor Cosma

Marta Kostyuk Betting Preview

Kostyuk is a 23-year-old Ukrainian who's currently ranked No. 15 in the world.

Kostyuk is temporarily holding her career-high ranking, which she's highly likely to improve on in the near future. I say this for two main reasons: first, looking at the live rankings, she's already climbed to No. 13; second, a competitor of Kostyuk’s caliber belongs as a permanent fixture inside the top 10.

Her breakthrough into the elite tier was delayed by objective factors. First and foremost was her youth, meaning she required time and developmental space.

Additionally, she's navigated significant external hurdles, particularly with her home country being involved in a war that's taken a major toll on her psychological well-being.

Despite this, her natural talent has always been undeniable. Furthermore, Kostyuk possesses what looks like the ideal physique for a modern tennis player: she's exceptionally powerful, lightning-fast and carries excellent muscle mass that grants her a distinct physical edge over her competitors.

While she has a reliable serve, her ultimate strengths lie in her baseline rallies and her elite return game. She breaks her opponents' serve with relative ease, making red clay a natural fit for her.

In a recent interview, she noted that she felt completely at home on clay during her childhood. She's now rediscovered that youthful joy, thrives on the physical running required by the surface and loves to experiment with diverse, creative shot-making.

Her current 14-match winning streak stems from this mindset, positioning Kostyuk as the most in-form player in the world right now. She hasn't lost a single match on dirt all year, though Sunday brings her absolute ultimate test.

Last season was also highly consistent, highlighted by quarterfinals in Madrid and Montreal, alongside a fourth-round run at the US Open.

Her new campaign is vastly superior, opening with a final appearance in Brisbane, where she fell to Aryna Sabalenka. More recently, she secured back-to-back titles on clay: first indoors at Rouen, followed by a massive champion's run at the Madrid Open.

Here in Paris, Kostyuk dropped a set to Katie Volynets in a tight, high-tension match, but easily bypassed Oksana Selekhmeteva and Viktorija Golubic in her other rounds, meaning her self-confidence should be sky-high.

Iga Swiatek Betting Preview

Swiatek is a 24-year-old who's currently ranked No. 3. Swiatek remains one of the greatest players of her era, even though she hasn't entirely dominated the tour this season and spent last year battling notable fluctuations.

Despite this, Swiatek boasts an incredible haul of six Grand Slam titles, a staggering achievement considering she's still in the first half of her professional career.

She's won this tournament four times already, earning her the undisputed title of the "Queen of Clay" and cementing her status as the gold standard on this surface.

To put her Parisian dominance over the last seven years into perspective, she's suffered only a single fourth-round exit — which came during her tournament debut.

Since then, her record reads four trophies, one semifinal and one quarterfinal. Whenever she steps onto these specific courts, her game elevates, leading many to label her the primary favorite for the title this year, even ahead of Sabalenka.

Her recent months, however, have been quite complicated. She parted ways with her coach, Wim Fissette — with whom she won Wimbledon — but achieved little else of note under that partnership.

That period felt like a regression for her in many areas, with the exception of her serve.

She's now working with Francisco Roig, a collaboration designed to heavily optimize her clay-court movement and tactics. Furthermore, she recently trained with her ultimate idol, Rafael Nadal.

Last season's crowning achievement was her incredible, unexpected run to the Wimbledon title. Beyond her flawless 6-0, 6-0 demolition of Amanda Anisimova in the final, Swiatek was historically not considered highly efficient on grass, and few expected her to lift the trophy. She followed that up with a title in Cincinnati but disappointed on clay, losing her semifinal match at Roland Garros to Sabalenka.

The current season has been relatively modest by her lofty standards. Swiatek reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open but suffered a string of early exits thereafter: a third-round loss to Magda Linette in Miami, a quarterfinal defeat to Mirra Andreeva in Stuttgart and a third-round retirement against Ann Li in Madrid.

She rediscovered her rhythm in Rome, blowing past Naomi Osaka and Jessica Pegula, before ultimately losing her semifinal match to Elina Svitolina — the eventual champion and a potential quarterfinal opponent for her here.

In Paris, Swiatek chas omfortably dispatched Francesca Jones, Sara Bejlek and Linette in straight sets. However, her match against Linette was relatively competitive, with Swiatek surrendering her serve three times.

Marta Kostyuk vs Iga Swiatek Predictions, Betting Analysis

Kostyuk can easily be considered the most in-form player on the women's tour right now. She rides a stellar 14-match winning streak, captured titles in Rouen and Madrid and remains completely undefeated on clay this season.

While her opening rounds in Paris haven't been flawless, she's been incredibly steady, showing immense self-belief and looking completely at ease on court.

Swiatek is a four-time champion here and the premium clay-courter in the world, but her form this season has been highly erratic. Outside of a strong run in Rome, she's frequently faltered in the latter stages of tournaments.

While she has yet to drop a set this week, she's faced noticeable issues on her own serve match after match. Yielding three breaks to Linette — who isn't known as an overly aggressive returner — highlights those vulnerabilities.

Kostyuk is playing with house money and has the aggressive baseline weight to heavily test the Pole.

Expect a highly competitive match where Kostyuk covers the +4.5 game handicap, with a realistic chance of snatching a set.

Pick: Marta Kostyuk +4.5 Game Handicap
