Grammy Awards Odds: Record of the Year Predictions
luther Record of the Year Odds
Kendrick Lamar's "luther" isn't the only song from his latest studio album, GNX, to be nominated for a Grammy, but its appearance in the Record of the Year category highlights its departure from Kendrick's pure rap performances. "luther" is being celebrated for it's finished product; the vocals laid down by Kendrick and SZA, as well as the production and engineering that made the track a great finished product.
The credits on "luther" list six different producers, including Sounwave and Jack Antonoff, along with an entire army of engineers. While other songs on GNX — such as "tv off" and "squabble up" — represent more of Kendrick's lyrical and rhythmic abilities, "luther" is the true testament to the behind-the-scenes art behind the vocals.
APT. Record of the Year Odds
"APT." is one of the more impressive nominations on the list, having come off the debut studio album of South Korea-based singer Rosé. The single, which features Bruno Mars, broke many records for K-pop songs, including becoming the fastest song by a female K-pop solo artist to surpass 100 million streams on Spotify, which it did in seven days.
The song represents a masterpiece in cross-cultural collaboration and also highlights Bruno Mars' skills beyond just his voice. The popular American singer helped both write and produce "APT." and also laid some vocals.
Abracadabra Record of the Year Odds
Lady Gaga's peak as a musician may have come more than a decade ago, but every few years, she'll come out with a chart-topper that reminds the world of her brilliance. "Abracadabra" is the most popular single off her sixth solo studio album Mayhem, released in 2025.
"Abracadabra" not only captured American audiences but international ones as well. It reached the top of the charts in Lithuania, and cracked the top 10 in Austria, Brazil, Germany, Norway, the U.K., and a few other nations. Critics have praised its production and songwriting, along with Lady Gaga's vocals, highlighting the track's all-around appeal.
