Story: Back Pitchers to Stay Hot Early

The Brewers are set to square off with the Tigers on Tuesday night in the first of a three-game road trip at Comerica Park in Detroit. Milwaukee left-hander Kyle Harrison will take the mound for the Brew Crew, while Keider Montero will be on the bump for the home Tigers.

Below, I will break down this interleague matchup and provide a “same-game parlay” selection that you can wager on ahead of Tuesday night’s contest.

Brewers vs Tigers NRFI

While right-hander Chad Patrick was initially scheduled for the start on Tuesday night, Harrison has been switched in as the Brew Crew plan to face a Tigers lineup loaded with left-handed hitters.

Detroit’s lineup features the likes of Riley Greene, Colt Keith, Kerry Carpenter, Zach McKinstry and Parker Meadows — all of whom bat from the left side of the plate.

Though Patrick is off to a scorching start to his 2026 campaign (0.95 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP over his first three outings), Milwaukee clearly felt that Harrison is the superior option considering the Tigers’ left-handed hitting prowess.

The Brewers are surely looking to get off to a hot start in the first game of their final series before heading back to Milwaukee this weekend.

On the bump for the home team, Montero looks to build upon a solid start to the season thus far, having posted an exceptional 0.81 WHIP over his three starts in 2026.

Given the fact that Harrison will be facing multiple lefties in his first frame, and Montero’s success thus far in keeping hitters off the basepaths, I feel good backing there to be no runs scored in the first inning (NRFI) for the first leg of our SGP ahead.

Brewers Player Prop: Garrett Mitchell Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs

If you have followed my SGP write-ups in the past, I typically favor pairing negatively correlated bets together as it often magnifies your parlay’s odds, thus extracting max value for your parlay.

In this case, my NRFI handicap implies a lower run total, which will be more efficiently used when paired with a hitter to exceed his total in player prop markets due to the inverse relationship between the two wagers.

I'll be looking to target Brewers OF Garrett Mitchell to exceed his 1.5 HRR (Hits + Runs + RBIs) total.

For a short-handed Milwaukee bunch, the 27-year-old lefty is off to a phenomenal start to his fifth season with the Brew Crew. Mitchell has already driven home 17 runners (RBIs), which ranks inside the top 15 in baseball.

While Montero has fared pretty well in his previous history versus this Brewers lineup, Mitchell is 1-for-2, with the lefty ripping a triple in his lone hit off the Tigers’ right-hander.

Over the course of his career, Montero has been far less efficient when matched up with left-handed hitters. In 2025, Detroit’s righty gave up 10 homers, 23 RBIs and a .521 slugging percentage (SLG) against lefties.

While Montero faced 30 more right-handed hitters last season, he allowed just six homers and eight RBIs, while also recording far superior SLG and OPS metrics when compared to lefties.

That said, I'm willing to take a shot on Brewers lefty Garrett Mitchell to continue his hot streak on Tuesday night, building upon his previous success versus the Tigers’ righty.

For the second leg of our SGP, I'll be backing Mitchell to exceed his 1.5 HRR total, which further magnifies the value of a parlay given the inverse relationship between game total unders and a batter’s success at the plate.

You can play my Tuesday SGP at +280 on DraftKings.
