White Sox vs Marlins Preview
This game triggered one of our Action PRO betting systems, powered by Evan Abrams.
This system backs teams in the heart of the MLB season (games six through 158) that are heating up while facing opponents in clear decline.
It isolates situations where:
- The opponent has one of the worst win rates in baseball (1 to 33%)
- The opponent is on a losing streak
- The team being backed is coming off a win
- The moneyline indicates moderate-to-heavy favoritism (-375 to -140)
By combining short-term momentum with long-term weakness, this system exploits matchups where strong teams are undervalued against clearly struggling opponents.

White Sox vs Marlins Picks
If you have followed any of my work during my six years here at Action Network, you know I am the biggest Fish Fanatic around.
Much of that love is centered around Sandy Alcantara, who is getting back to Cy Young form as he distances himself from Tommy John surgery.
He dominated the Rockies on Opening Day, tossing seven innings of one-run ball while allowing just four hits. He forced six whiffs on his changeup, generated a ground-ball rate over 50%, and kept his four-seam velocity up over 97 MPH — that’s the formula. He also kept the Rockies off balance with a six-pitch mix.
His Stuff+ rating in that start was 109, a jump back to his 2023 season (110) after a dip in his slumping 2025 (104). All signs are pointing upward for Sandy.
And all signs are pointing upward for the Fish. The Marlins boast a young, versatile offense brimming with talent. There’s a reason why they’re 4-1 with the sixth-highest wRC+ among MLB lineups (122).
I was high on Shane Smith entering the season, but not after his disastrous Opening Day start against the Brewers, where he managed only 1 ⅔ innings before getting pulled, allowing four runs on three hits and two walks.
I’m all in on the Fish for Sandy Day.
