Over his past three starts, Brown is running a 29% strikeout rate. This has come primarily from huge increases in the swing-and-miss rates on his sinker and knuckle-curve (which is running a 119 Stuff+ rating during this three-start stretch).
Brown is a reverse-splits pitcher, with a career strikeout rate nearly four points higher against lefties than against righties. That could prove pivotal in this matchup, given Sean Zerillo projects the Giants with six Southpaws in tonight’s lineup.
