Mets vs Diamondbacks MLB Betting Preview

I’m looking at the Under on Nolan McLean Under 5.5 strikeouts.
It’s a scary bet because Nolan McLean is one of the most exciting young pitchers in baseball, and he’s really good. That’s exactly why we’re getting value on the under — the books know nobody wants to bet against him right now, so they’re shading the line heavily toward the Over.
We’ve already seen the number move up throughout the day because of public betting, though I expect it might come back down a bit.
He’s facing an Arizona offense that projects as the single least strikeout-prone team of the entire slate. The one big variable I’m watching is the roof status in Arizona. It’s 97 degrees there today.
Normally, you’d expect them to close the roof, but in night games, they often leave it open even when it’s hot. They still haven’t announced it yet, and I’m really hoping the roof stays open because that helps this projection.
If they close it, I don’t like the bet quite as much, but it would still be positive value. I’ll be monitoring that closely. I’m hoping we just get a solid, workmanlike outing from McLean instead of a dominant one.
Pick: Nolan McLean Under 5.5 Strikeouts
