On Friday, we're looking at Seattle to find value in a NRFI between two contending American League teams — the Cleveland Guardians and Seattle Mariners.

The Guardians will send out their ace, and NRFI hall of Famer in Shane Bieber. Coming into today Bieber is an outstanding 20-3 to the NRFI with a 12-2 road NRFI split. When facing hitters the first time through the lineup he has allowed a .199 average.

Here are some of Biebers best matchups today:

  • Jesse Winker: 2-for-11
  • Eugenio Suarez: 2-for-13
  • Carlos Santana: 1-for-9
  • Mitch Haniger: 3-for-9

It should be noted Ty France, who usually bats second, may be dropped down in the order as his struggles at the plate continue to haunt him. In his last seven days, he’s hitting under .100 going 2-for-21.

The projected top of the Mariners order has struggled against Bieber collectively only hitting 8-for-41. In the month of August, in the first inning and when at home. The Mariners have been underperforming. In 40 plate appearances, they have only managed six hits, resulting in a .171 first-inning batting average.

The Mariners will counter with another possible NRFI Hall of Famer in Logan Gilbert. Coming into today Gilbert is 20-5 to the NRFI with an 8-2 home NRFI split. In 101 first-inning batters faced Gilbert has only issued seven walks and 21 hits.

Here is how these Guardians bats have fared in the past against Gilbert:

  • Amed Rosario: 2-for-5
  • Jose Ramirez: 1-for-5
  • Josh Naylor: 1-for-4

Josh Naylor is projected to bat clean up today and is in the midst of a slump. He has gone 3-for-19 in his last 22 at-bats.

Bet on these two NRFI Hall of Fame caliber pitchers to continue their success today. Take the NRFI between the Guardians and Mariners.

As always, six outs to glory
