Padres vs Mariners MLB Betting Preview
The Padres (27-18) are looking to complete the sweep on the road against the Mariners. San Diego has now won five of its last eight games. The good news for them is their otherworldly closer, Mason Miller, didn't pitch in Saturday's win, so he's totally fresh for this matchup.
San Diego is sending out veteran right-hander Lucas Giolito, who is making his season debut after signing with the team late in the offseason. In Giolito's most recent rehab assignment at Double-A, he pitched six innings of one-run ball.
Facing an undermanned Mariners lineup that is playing without Cal Raleigh, we could see a quality outing from Giolito in this one.
The Mariners (22-25) are looking to avoid the sweep at home vs. the Padres. Seattle has dropped three of its last four games, but they have a chance to get back on track with George Kirby on the mound.
The veteran right-hander has allowed two earned runs or fewer in six consecutive outings, so there's a good chance we see more of the same against the Padres.
What's also good news for the Mariners here is that Andres Munoz hasn't pitched in this series, so he's fully fresh.

Padres vs Mariners Pick, Betting Analysis
The Padres have a 72 wRC+ in the last seven days, which ranks 25th in MLB during that stretch. We could see Kirby shut down this underperforming offense, especially at home and in strong form, having allowed a combined 10 earned runs in his last six outings, spanning 37 innings.
Considering that Giolito looked sharp in his most recent rehab assignment at Double-A, coupled with the fact that this is at a pitcher's park, we could also see a quality outing from the veteran right-hander.
It also bodes well that the Mariners' bats have gone cold in this series, combining for just four runs in two games.
Then, add in the fact that both Mason Miller and Andres Munoz are fresh in this game, and you can see why the under looks appealing.
Pick: Under 7.5 (-110, FanDuel)
