Yankees vs Giants Parlay, Picks
Story: Logan Webb's career struggles against the Yankees and left-handed hitters.
SGP Building Blocks
- Yankees ML
- Aaron Judge Over 1.5 Total Bases
Parlay Odds: +171 (FanDuel)
Logan Webb enters the 2026 season after a tremendous 2025 campaign, finishing 15-11 with a 3.52 ERA. The Giants pitcher was selected to the second All-Star game of his career.
He looks to start his 2026 season in a similar fashion, but this is a brutal Opening Day matchup.
Webb is matched up against New York stater Max Fried, who led MLB in wins last season with a whopping 19.
While the Giants’ ace is considered by most to be one of the best starters in Baseball, Webb has struggled against the Yankees, posting a 5.50 ERA across three head-to-head matchups.
- March 30, 2023: 6 IP, 4 ER, 12 K, 2 BB
- June 12, 2024: 7 IP, 4 ER, 6 K, 1 BB
- April 13, 2025: 5 IP, 3 ER, 5 K, 4 BB
In addition to having struggled against the Yankees in the past, Webb has a challenging matchup against a left-handed-heavy New York lineup.
In 2025, he allowed 114 hits and eight homers to southpaws, compared to just 96 hits to righties.
Prior to diving into Webb’s metrics versus left-handed hitters, we must state the obvious that Aaron Judge is undoubtedly the best hitter to target in the Yankees lineup on Opening Day.
While Webb is better against right-handed hitters, the ever-consistent Judge has still hit .430 with two homers against Webb.
If you’re looking to build an SGP for Wednesday’s Opening Day game, I’d start by targeting New York’s superstar with a great history against Webb.
Upside Parlay
- Yankees ML
- Aaron Judge Over 1.5 Total Bases
- Ryan McMahon Over 0.5 Hits
- Trent Grisham Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Parlay Odds: +564 (FanDuel)
The Yankees’ Opening Day lineup features a whopping six left-handed hitters, including Austin Wells, Ben Rice, Jazz Chisholm Jr., Ryan McMahon, Cody Bellinger, and Trent Grisham.
McMahon has a whopping 42 lifetime at-bats against Webb, hitting .310 behind 14 hits, three doubles, and a homer.
Despite McMahon’s previous success against Webb, he was atrocious for the Yankees in the second half of 2025 after being acquired at the deadline. So, I’d rather play it safe and target him for a lower-exposure prop, like 1+ hits.
Grisham has also whalloped Webb, posting six hits against him with two doubles.
After mashing a career-best 34 home runs last season in his Yankee debut, it would not surprise me in the slightest if Grisham has another big season in New York.
Grishman is tremendous at drawing walks, posting a career-best 14.1% walk rate in 2025, which frequently gets him on base and puts him in position to score runs.
For a left-handed hitter with previous success versus Webb, I think targeting Grishman in the HRR market is a good look.
