Rangers vs Dodgers MLB Betting Preview
The wind is blowing out to right-center field at Dodger Stadium on Friday night, and I think that sets up well for the left-handed Joc Pederson. He has a lot of experience hitting in this park from his seven years in Los Angeles.
Pederson is struggling, and he’s facing Tyler Glasnow, which doesn’t seem like a great matchup.
However, Glasnow generates a ton of ground balls from his sinker, but while he throws it 34% of the time against righties, he throws it just 21% of the time against lefties.
Instead, Pederson relies more heavily on his four-seamer and curveball against Southpaws. That’s good for Pederson, as most of his power comes against fastballs, and he has solid expected average/slugging numbers against curveballs.
I think Pederson has a good shot to lift one off Glasnow on Friday.
My favorite way to back him is in the total base market, but I’m also interested in betting him to homer.
If you’re more risk-averse, books are still offering plus-money on him to record just one hit.
