Warriors vs Kings NBA Preview
The Warriors aren't having a great month and are off to a 1-4 start in April, but they have found success against the Kings this season. The Dubs have a chance to improve to 3-1 on the year against their in-state rivals with a win on Friday.
Injuries have ravaged Golden State in a down year, but things are looking up down the home stretch in the regular season as the play-in tournament nears.
Stephen Curry is back in the mix after missing an extended period of time with a knee injury. The sharpshooter averaged an efficient 23.0 points off the bench in his first two games back in action. He's performing at a high level when available, but whether he'll return to the starting lineup soon remains to be seen.
Brandin Podziemski has elevated his play lately and will likely play a crucial role on Friday, whether Curry starts or not. He's scored more than 20 points in six of his previous 10 outings.
Podziemski is shooting better than 50% from the field and long range against Sacramento this season. It's unclear where the bulk of the Kings' offense will come from, though.
Four different players have led the Kings in points over their previous four games, and DeMar DeRozan won't suit up ahead of the weekend. That'll make the contributions of players like Maxime Raynaud, Devin Carter, and Precious Achiuwa more important than usual — especially as a team that ranks 28th in points per game (110.9).
DeRozan(hamstring) has been ruled out for Sacramento.
Warriors vs Kings Predictions, Betting Analysis
The books might be overestimating the Warriors here.
Golden State does have a key piece back in Curry, but has lost five of its previous six games. Sacramento was the only team the Warriors beat during that stretch, but they only secured a five-point victory as 15.5-point favorites.
DeRozan didn't play the last two times these teams met, and the Dubs have failed to cover in four of their previous five road games.
Sacramento has room to grow, but has managed to cover in four of the last five games it's entered as a double-digit underdog. I think they can exceed expectations and avoid a blowout at home.
Pick: Kings +10.5 (-108)
