The NBA division markets offer some of the best structural edges on the futures board before the regular season tips off. Between championship hangover risks, roster turnover, and the public overestimating or underestimating specific teams, there is a bunch of value in targeting divisional crowns.

NBA Division Winner Predictions, Picks
Toronto Raptors to Win Atlantic Division (+800)
By Matt Moore
I expect the Raptors to have real structure and functionality, regardless of whether Kawhi Leonard plays a full slate of games or not.
Kawhi is purely additive here—when he plays, he simply increases their margin of victory and raises their game-to-game win probability. Even without him in the lineup last season, Toronto found a legitimate identity during their playoff run when they realized RJ Barrett and Collin Murray-Boyles are absolute core pieces moving forward.
Jakob Poeltl suffered a major back injury last season—which currently looks like one of the worst contracts in the league—but if he gets through recovery and returns to being a serviceable center alongside Murray-Boyles, this defense is going to be elite.
The Raptors' big issue last season was that they dismantled bad teams but lost to everybody with a pulse. With improved internal progression and better structural discipline, that dynamic will likely shift.
The Atlantic Division is going to beat each other up. The Knicks are dealing with a severe championship hangover, and the 76ers are integrating a ton of clunky new parts that will take time to gel.
While the Celtics are the most reliable threat, at 8-1, the Raptors have the exact profile to sneak up on the division while everyone else stumbles early.
I love Toronto to win the division, and I am taking the over on their win total as well.
Raptors Futures Bets
- Raptors to Win Atlantic Division (+800)
- Raptors Over 46.5 Wins
Orlando Magic to Win Southeast Division (+250)
By Joe Dellera
The Magic are my favorite division bet on the board. They simply cannot be as bad as the market is pricing them relative to their talent.
The expectation for this Orlando group is that they are going to be really good — and the talent is undeniable with Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, and the addition of Desmond Bane.
What sets apart the Magic from the rest of the Southeast is their continuity. Even though their key players were in and out of the lineup last season due to various injuries, Orlando's foundational core has played together and understands their system.
When you compare the Magic to the rest of the division, the Heat are going to be going through growing pains trying to figure out how to integrate Giannis Antetokounmpo while managing his health for the postseason. Atlanta and Washington are both in transitional phases.
Orlando has the talent, the continuity, and the defensive floor to take this division cleanly.
Pick: Magic to Win Southeast Division (+250)
Houston Rockets to Win Southwest Division (+750)
By Jim Turvey
The Rockets were a 56-win team by Pythagorean expectation last season—they were a regular-season juggernaut, and they achieved that without even beating up on the tanking teams.
Now, the Rockets get a healthy Fred VanVleet back to serve as a steady hand, Marcus Smart to bolster their perimeter creation, and Steven Adams to dominate the glass for second-chance opportunities.
Ime Udoka is an elite regular-season head coach, and Houston's defense is going to be top-tier once again. Their schedule is also slightly favorable when you analyze rest, travel, and opponent density.
I love playing the Rockets across multiple derivative markets because there is a huge gap in the Western Conference standings after the top tier. While Oklahoma City sits at the top, San Antonio is ripe for a slight regression after their deep Finals run.
Getting Houston to win the Southwest Division at +750 offers nice upside on a team with a very high regular-season floor.
Rockets Futures Bets
- Rockets Under 5.5 Seed (Best Bet)
- Rockets Over 46.5 Wins
- Rockets Alt 50+ Wins
- Rockets Exact 2-Seed (+1000)
- Rockets to Win Southwest Division (+750)
- Rockets Head-to-Head More Wins than 76ers (+125)
Indiana Pacers to Win Central Division (+370)
By Joe Dellera
Everything with the Pacers revolves around Tyrese Haliburton. The Pacers were unwatchable at times without him last season, but Haliburton is healthy, looks ready to go, and remains an All-NBA caliber player who drastically elevates the ceiling of this entire offense.
The move that truly changes the calculation for Indiana, however, is the addition of Ivica Zubac.
Zubac provides the clear defensive anchor this team has desperately needed. Two years ago, there was legitimate chatter about Zubac as a Defensive Player of the Year candidate, and he ended up on the All-Defensive Second Team.
Adding a true rim-protector who has consistently raised the floor of defenses in Los Angeles gives Indiana a path to a top-10 defense.
When you pair a top-10 defense with Rick Carlisle's elite offense and Haliburton's playmaking, Indiana becomes a dangerous regular-season team.
The Central Division is wide open: the Pistons are volatile, the Cavaliers are rolling out the exact same core without improving their ceiling, and both the Bulls and Bucks are projected to be bottom-dwellers.
Indiana to win the division at +370 is an excellent price.
Pacers Futures Bets
- Pacers to Win Central Division (+370)
- Ivica Zubac All-Defense (+3000)
- Parlay: Zubac 15+ PPG & Pacers 50+ Wins (+700)
Los Angeles Lakers to Win Pacific Division (-118)
By Jim Turvey
The market is historically wrong on the Lakers, but in this case, it is wrong in the other direction. L.A. was a 53-win team last season, and while losing LeBron James is a headline, transitioning strictly to a heliocentric Luka Doncic system gives this team a crystal-clear identity.
If Luka misses time, Austin Reaves has shown he can step up and carry the offense in spurts. Beyond those two, the front office added exceellent depth in Collin Sexton, Quentin Grimes, Matisse Thybulle, and Cam Christie to insulate the rotation.
Offensively, Walker Kessler gives them a physical presence inside, and Thybulle gives JJ Redick a primary defensive stopper on the wing.
There is a distinct tier break between the top six teams in the West and the rest of the conference. The Suns tried as hard as they could last year and still couldn't put it together, and the rest of the Pacific Division has major flaws.
At -118, the Lakers are the clear class of this division.
Lakers Futures Bets
- Lakers Over 49.5 Wins
- Lakers Under 6.5 Seed
- Lakers to Win Pacific Division (-118)
Atlanta Hawks to Win Southeast Division (+285)
By Jim Turvey
This is a pure numbers play based on on-court efficiency.
The Hawks' lineup data after trading away Trae Young rated them as one of the best overall units in the Eastern Conference. They proved that wasn't a fluke in the postseason by being the only team to beat the champion Knicks twice.
The market is still lagging behind on how well Atlanta functions structurally when they aren't forced to play through a ball-dominant, high-usage guard. Quin Snyder is a well respected regular-season coach who now has a roster tailored to his system.
At +285 to win the Southeast Division and +115 to finish as a top-7 seed, the Hawks are likely undervalued.
Hawks Futures Bets
- Hawks to Win Southeast Division (+285)
- Hawks Under 7.5 Seed (+115)
