76ers vs. Celtics
Payton Pritchard was the engine of the Celtics' bench in Game 1, logging a massive 34 minutes and letting it fly from deep. While he only shot 2-of-9 (22%) from beyond the arc in the opener, the sheer volume of attempts is what catches our eye here.
Pritchard is projected for 2.9 made threes tonight according to our Action PRO Projections, but the market is still offering us a healthy plus-number (+127) at DraftKings.
He has cleared this 2.5-mark in six of his last 10 games, and against a Philadelphia defense that will be focused on stopping Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, Pritchard should continue to find high-quality looks from deep.
Pick: Payton Pritchard Over 2.5 Three-Pointers Made (+127)
Trail Blazers vs. Spurs
It was a night to forget for Jrue Holiday in Game 1. The veteran guard struggled mightily in the 111-98 loss to the Spurs, finishing with just 9 points on 4-of-15 shooting—including a dismal 1-of-7 from three-point range.
However, we've seen this movie before with Jrue; he is a prideful veteran who historically bounces back after high-volume, low-efficiency nights. Our PRO Projection sits at 2.95, and with the line set at 2.5 (+129), we’re getting a significant edge.
Portland needs Holiday's perimeter scoring to keep pace with Victor Wembanyama and the high-flying Spurs. Jrue has cleared this number in six of his last 10 games, and the Blazers simply can't afford another 14% shooting night from their floor general.
Expect Jrue to be aggressive early and often from the perimeter in Game 2 tonight.
Pick: Jrue Holiday Over 2.5 Three-Pointers Made (+129)
Rockets vs. Lakers
If there was a hero in the Lakers' Game 1 win over Houston, it was Luke Kennard. The trade-deadline acquisition nearly broke a franchise record in his playoff debut, scoring 27 points while going a perfect 5-of-5 from three-point range.
With Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves still sidelined for Game 2, Kennard will once again play a crucial role in the Lakers' floor spacing. The market has set his line at 2.5, and our Action PRO Projections have him marked for 3.0 made threes.
Considering he played 38 minutes on Saturday and has seen his role skyrocket over the last two weeks, the volume should be there, as the Lakers' offense currently flows through LeBron James finding Kennard on the wings.
