Trail Blazers vs Jazz NBA Preview

If you look at how these teams have been playing, not only is there a pace adjustment to keep in mind, Portland has turned the ball over at an absolutely insane rate, as the Trail Blazers currently rank 30th in turnover rate.

When the Jazz face a team that turns the ball over more than they do, the over is 4-0 in those games, mainly because Utah’s baseline offense is already high.

The Jazz have a lot of shooters. Brice Sensabaugh is a guy I really like. He’s going to play no matter what, and he’s going to shoot three-pointers.

The Blazers will get to the line because the Jazz can’t defend. I think they will keep getting there even if Deni Avdija is out.

Utah is 28th in free-throw rate allowed, which plays into how Portland wants to play — which is fast-paced, a lot of fouls, and a lot of threes.

Trail Blazers vs Jazz Predictions, Betting Analysis

I’m going to take the Blazers-Jazz over here. I’d play it all the way up to 245.

This is a matchup between the 3rd-fastest offense vs. the 7th-fastest offense.

Sure, the Jazz are probably sitting everybody. Sure, they may do some nonsense with the rotation.

However, we’ll see who actually plays, and they may give us enough early in the game to send this total over the number.

The Blazers could sit some guys heading into the All-Star break on a back-to-back.

Why are these games on a back-to-back? I don’t know. But even then, you are looking at an up-and-down, high-pace style affair.

I’ll trust the model and take over 239 in Portland vs. Utah tonight.

Pick: Over 239 (-110)
