Kentucky Basketball

The Wildcats have been incredibly streaky throughout the season, and that trend has continued in recent weeks. Kentucky got off to an 8-3 start in conference play after an incredible comeback against Tennessee, but it immediately lost three games in a row to Florida, Georgia and Auburn.

Currently, the Wildcats are on an upward trend after beating South Carolina on the road and Vanderbilt by 14 points at home over the weekend.

The final two games of Kentucky's season look very tough on paper, but a win against Texas A&M would go a long way towards solidifying the Wildcats' seeding in the NCAA Tournament.

Kentucky's last game of the season will be against Florida, and the Wildcats would love to get a win against the Aggies to carry more momentum into that game, as well.

If Kentucky is going to pull off this road victory, it's going to come from the defensive end. The Wildcats allow opponents to attempt 3s at a relatively average rate, but when opponents shoot from deep, Kentucky defends the 3-point line at a top-50 rate.

On the other end, the Texas A&M offensive game plan is to shoot a ton of triples. Kentucky needs to make the Aggies uncomfortable by running them off the 3-point line, and it'll secure the tough road victory if Texas A&M can't catch fire from deep.

Texas A&M Basketball

Texas A&M is a team that finds itself firmly on the NCAA Tournament bubble heading into the final week of the regular season.

The Aggies looked like a definite March Madness participant after a 17-4 start to the year, including a 7-1 record in conference play.

However, things quickly took a turn for the worse for Texas A&M in February. The Aggies have played six of their last eight games against likely NCAA Tournament opponents, and have lost all six of those tougher games.

Texas A&M beat Ole Miss and Oklahoma, but the Aggies are still 2-6 in their last eight matchups, with no impressive wins in that span.

The Aggies compiled some decent victories early in the season, but this game against Kentucky will be a major test. Texas A&M isn't playing at its peak, while the Wildcats are playing well and still have motivation to close out the season on a positive note.

From a stylistic perspective, the Aggies are incredibly effective in a few major areas. Texas A&M ranks in the top 30 in the country in assists per field goal made, average 2-point attempt distance, average possession length and adjusted tempo.

The Aggies will try to continue pushing the pace, share the ball well and get very close to the rim at a high rate, while also capitalizing on their elite 3-point shooting.

Kentucky vs. Texas A&M Betting Analysis

There are reasons to believe in either team in what should be a very close game that has a lot of NCAA Tournament implications.

Going into specific matchup advantages, Kentucky's defense has been incredibly solid against 3-point shooters.

On the other end, Texas A&M has really struggled against elite competition this season, posting just a 5-9 record against top-50 teams on KenPom, including two narrow wins against Oklahoma, which ranks exactly 50th on KenPom.

Even though the Aggies desperately need this one and the Wildcats are mostly playing for NCAA Tournament seeding, Kentucky is playing much better basketball down the stretch, and I think Texas A&M's struggles against superior teams will continue on Tuesday.

My Pick: Kentucky +1.5
