MA lawmakers have yet to come to an agreement on budgeting and the legality of college sports wagering, which is standing in the way of the legalization of Massachusetts sports betting . Discussions on the fine print of HB 3977 will be ongoing until further notice. MA residents can expect legalized sports betting by late 2022 or early 2023.
Massachusetts residents will soon have the option to travel to Maine to place their bets on the Huskies. Maine sports betting was legalized on April 19, 2022, after Gov. Janet Mills passed LD 585 almost two weeks after the State Senate approved the bill.
