The Citadel Basketball

The Citadel has won three away games all season, including at Chattanooga. In their victory back on February 7, the Bulldogs shot 50% from the field while scoring 16 points on 12 turnovers.

Turning teams over is how the Bulldogs have stayed in games this season, forcing a 16.2% turnover rate in conference games, which ranks them third in the SoCon.

Sola Adebisi is the identity of this defense with 33 steals and 32 blocks this season, including three blocks and three steals in the Bulldogs' overtime win at Wofford to end the regular season.

At 6-foot-7, 205 pounds, Adebisi has the athleticism to jump passing lanes and alter shots around the rim, while being a short-distance finisher on the offense (shooting 70% at the rim this season).

Braxton Williams is the team's leading scorer at 14.4 points per game, and he's averaging 20 points in the two contests against Chattanooga this season.

Against Chattanooga, Williams was able to find his 3-point shooting (38%). It'll be interesting to see if his efficiency continues in the third matchup, as he struggles to shoot spot-up 3s, averaging 28.7% on 115 attempts this season.

Chattanooga Basketball

Chattanooga has played The Citadel twice now in February, splitting the two games.

In both contests, the Mocs turned the ball over more than they'd have liked to. However, even with the turnovers in their most recent matchup, Chattanooga's offense was explosive. The Mocs blew the game open early with a 25-0 run, taking a commanding 29-4 lead and never looking back.

The Mocs shot the leather off the ball, hitting 61% from the field, including 48% from deep on 14 made triples. Chattanooga won the game 93-72, making it 21-1 under Dan Earl when scoring 90+ points.

Jordan Frison leads the team in scoring with 16.4 points per game. He's one of the best scoring guards in the country out of the pick-and-roll, shooting 64% from the field, which puts him in the 98th percentile in points per possession.

In two games against The Citadel, Frison is averaging 20 points on 16-of-26 from the field (62%).

The Citadel vs. Chattanooga Betting Analysis

Chattanooga's Achilles' heel has been turning the ball over. This season, the Mocs are 2-7 in SoCon games when they give it up 10 or more times, which includes both games against The Citadel.

Though the Bulldogs have done a good job of turning teams over all season, the Mocs are playing at a high level on the offensive end.

Since their loss to Western Carolina, the Mocs are 3-1 in their last four games, averaging 88 points per night with the 13th-best effective field goal percentage in the country (63%).

During the four-game stretch, they're fifth in the country in 2-point percentage (65.9%), while also shooting 40% from deep.

With the Mocs clicking on all cylinders — led by Frison, who's played well against The Citadel — they should be able to overcome their turnover woes and separate themselves from the Bulldogs with their efficient shot-making.

My Pick: Chattanooga -6.5
