Towson vs Drexel College Basketball Betting Preview

I project around 126.6 points for this CAA battle, so I’m happy taking the Under at 129.5 or better.

College Basketball Projections, Picks: Tanner McGrath's Power Ratings & Score Model Image

The last time these two met, they played a 62-possession grinder that finished 59-58 in favor of Towson.

Among 13 CAA teams during league play, Towson ranks 11th in offensive efficiency (103.5), while Drexel ranks 12th (102.7). Meanwhile, Drexel has the league’s best defense by efficiency (102.1), which showed in the first meeting, as the Dragons held the Tigers to 16-for-45 (36%) shooting from inside the arc.

Towson has a more exploitable defense, but Drexel doesn’t create any easy buckets, ranking near the bottom of the league in free-throw rate (28%) and second-chance points per game (10). The Dragons also throw the ball away like crazy, but Towson won’t turn those into fast-break buckets (1.02 transition PPP, 20th percentile).

Finally, our Action PRO projections have this line close to 120.5, meaning there's nearly a 12-point edge.

Ultimately, I expect around 61 possessions for this meeting, with both teams barely cracking 60 points.

My Pick: Under 129.5 or Better
