The 2026 NCAA Tournament field has been announced and Wright State will take on Virginia in Round 1 of the Midwest region. Here's everything you need to know about Wright State vs. Virginia odds, spread and more.

Virginia opened as a 17.5-point favorite over Wright State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The total is set at over/under 145.5 points scored by both teams combined.

Find out how No. 3-seeded Virginia and No. 14-seeded Wright State match up ahead of their opening round matchup.

Wright State vs. Virginia Analysis

Wright State will be in a tough spot here.

The Raiders are giving up so much length to Virginia. The tallest starter for Clint Sargent’s bunch is Kellen Pickett at 6-foot-9.

That spells disaster against Virginia, which is one of the top rim defenses in the country. The shot-swatting monster Ugonna Onyenso went on a shot-blocking spree in the ACC Tourney and even made Cam Boozer look human. The Cavaliers also have 7-footer Johann Grunloh, who starts over Onyenso.

I think Wright State will have to shoot 3s. The Raiders attempted 3s on just 33% of their field goal attempts this year, and hit 36% of them. They have three snipers in Michael Cooper, Solomon Callaghan, and Dominic Pangonis. That trio will have to show up if Wright State can cover the spread.

Thijs De Ridder is the one to watch for Virginia. He struggled versus Duke in the ACC title game, but his 6-foot-9, 238-pound frame should lead to a big game in this first-round matchup.
