Tulsa vs New Mexico State Pick, Betting Analysis

Tulsa racked up 500 yards of total offense last week against Abilene Christian. The Hurricane were very efficient, averaging 6.5 yards per play over 80 plays. Quarterback Kirk Francis looked good and was efficient.

That said, their defense was super inspiring in that performance. Tulsa allowed only one explosive rush, stood firm on two of three red-zone opportunities, and generated five sacks.

Behind a new head coach, Tulsa appears to be a new team with a new level of intensity.

Meanwhile, I walked away very unimpressed with New Mexico State’s performance last week.

The Aggies struggled mightily against a bottom-100 FCS team in Brytan.

They managed only 78 rushing yards on 2.4 YPC. Quarterback Logan Fife was just going through the motions, going 14-for-31 passing with half of his total passing yards coming on three plays. They went 4-for-15 on third downs, with six three-and-outs.

I think Tulsa has more talent, and I think the Hurricane carries momentum over from last week’s performance.

Pick: Tulsa -4.5 (-110, BetMGM)
