ULM vs Southern Miss Pick

This game activated one of our PRO Betting Systems, powered by Evan Abrams:

Early Road Redemption is a college football system that identifies the value of visiting teams in the season's opening stretch after underperforming against the spread in their previous outing.

The market often punishes these teams too heavily for a single early loss, creating inflated lines in the next matchup.

By narrowing the spread range between modest underdogs and double-digit spots, the system captures situations where the road team is competitive but overlooked.

These games are played in manageable weather conditions and typically fall within lower scoring totals, which reduces volatility and keeps contests closer than expected.

When teams in their first eight games seek redemption on the road after a poor showing against the spread, they frequently outperform expectations, making this a profitable angle.

This system is profitable long-term and has produced a 14-9-1 ATS record this season (61% win, 14% ROI).

The Warhawks are coming off three consecutive blowout losses to Northwestern, Coastal Carolina, and Troy. However, they beat a half-decent Arkansas State team a few weeks ago, and I'm always willing to put my money behind Bryant Vincent, who I think is a rock-solid head coach. Our system tells us this is the time to buy Warhawk stock.

There's plenty to love about Charles Huff, Braylon Braxton, and the Golden Eagles — they're sitting atop the Sun Belt West at 3-0 in conference play.

That said, their run defense is super weak. The Eagles rank 134th nationally in EPA per Rush allowed and 116th in Rush Success Rate allowed. They allowed 221 rushing yards to Louisiana last week and 262 to Jacksonville State two weeks prior.

The Warhawks are a run-first squad, ranking in the top 40 nationally in Rush Rate (55%). They should be able to keep the rock on the ground, churn out first downs, and drain the clock, thus preventing Southern Miss from building a margin.

Meanwhile, ULM's defense isn't playing too poorly, ranking 49th nationally in Pass Success Rate allowed and 14th in Rush Success Rate allowed.

The Warhawks should be able to keep this game within single digits by running the ball and playing defense.

Pick: ULM +11 (-110, bet365)
