NBA All-Star weekend is officially upon us and the action kicks off Friday with the 2024 NBA Rising Stars tournament. This will be the third year under the new team format with teams led by former NBA and WNBA players at the helm as coaches — Pau Gasol, Tamika Catchings and Jalen Rose and Detlef Schrempf.

Gasol's team took home the hardware in 2023 and enters Friday as the favorite to win the tournament at +120. Here's a look at the rosters for each team and the format for Friday's NBA All-Star weekend event.

NBA Rising Stars Format

Four teams comprising 28 rookies, sophomores and NBA G League players will compete in a series of three games on TNT at 9 p.m. ET.

Each game will be played to a final target score, ending with a made basket or free throw instead of with the clock running out, similar to the NBA All-Star game.

Games 1 and 2 will be played until a team reaches 40 points; Game 3 will be played until a team reaches 25 points.

Game 3: Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2
