That first meeting came with important players missing on both sides. Joel Embiid sat for Philadelphia, while Detroit played without Jalen Duren and Ausar Thompson.
The Pistons still controlled the game. Philadelphia shot 40% from the field and 7-of-27 from three, while Cade Cunningham scored 26 points.
Cunningham remains in strong form after scoring 33 in Monday's 124-91 win over Charlotte. Detroit is also 2-0 at home and has increased its three-point volume compared with last season.
Philadelphia is playing well, too. The Sixers beat Chicago 126-107 on Monday, with Tyrese Maxey posting 26 points and 11 assists. Jaylen Brown added 25 points and 11 rebounds, while VJ Edgecombe scored 21.
Embiid remains the biggest variable. He has been managing a plantar fascia issue in his right foot and played 25 minutes Monday after sitting out the second night of a back-to-back.
