49ers vs Commanders Preview

I'll start my 49ers vs Commanders SGP with Brock Purdy Over 249.5 Passing Yards.

Purdy is playing like an MVP candidate this year, completing 69% of his passes at 8.4 yards per attempt with 13 touchdowns and two interceptions.

Looking at advanced metrics, Purdy ranks 1st in adjusted EPA per play. He should be able to pick apart a Commanders defense that ranks 25th in EPA and 27th in success rate per dropback.

Up next, we're going with Rachaad White Over 12.5 Receiving Yards. With Jacory Croskey-Merritt ruled out for this game, White is positioned to lead the backfield in touches.

It also helps that the Commanders are 7.5-point underdogs, so they're projected to play from behind. That could mean more check-down targets for White. On top of that, the 49ers have given up the second-most receiving yards to running backs this year.

We'll finish it off with George Kittle Over 64.5 Receiving Yards.

It's amazing to see Kittle show no ill effects from a torn Achilles, as he's been balling for the Niners, putting up 21 catches for 268 yards and four touchdowns.

The Commanders run two-high coverage at the second-highest rate in the NFL, which leaves them more vulnerable across the middle of the field. That hurt them last week, when Isaiah Likely went off for 11 catches and 94 yards.

These three picks follow this angle: The Niners win by double digits behind a huge game from Purdy. The Commanders are forced to check down to their starting running back as they play catch up for most of the second half.

At +405 odds, it's worth a look for Week 6 Monday Night Football.
