Nathaniel Hackett didn’t last one full year as the Denver Broncos head coach. That sentence alone makes the next head coach odds particularly intriguing for the AFC West franchise.
DraftKings listed odds for four teams’ next head coach: The Colts, Cardinals, Panthers and Broncos.
Denver’s next leader must not only turn things around, but contribute to solving the franchise’s drought under center since the Peyton Manning era.
Here are a couple hot commodities George Paton and Co. will likely be keeping tabs on to coach the Broncos in the 2023 season
Dan Quinn Odds for Broncos Head Coach: +175
No candidate is shorter across any next-head-coach odds board than Quinn is to land with the Broncos
Quinn’s stint as the Falcons head coach went south, but he’s gaining steam coordinating the Cowboys’ defense.
Dallas has ranked eighth and fifth nationally in points allowed per game with Quinn calling the shots. For context, the Cowboys ranked 28th the year before Quinn arrived.
He’d automatically inherit a solid defense — the Broncos were sixth in yards per play allowed in 2022.
Sean Payton Odds for Broncos Head Coach: +250
Payton didn’t coach in 2022, but will be among the hottest names on the market.
He’s second on the Broncos’ odds list, but he’s favored to land with this NFC West team next year.
Jim Harbaugh Odds for Broncos Head Coach: +600
Harbaugh leveled up the Michigan Wolverines, taking his alma mater to two consecutive College Football Playoff appearances.
Harbaugh, who’s been the best bet against the spread in all of college football since 2021, is also the top headliner to take this AFC South job.
