In his last two games, McKinnon has 16 targets, including four in the red zone. In that time, Clyde Edwards-Helaire has been phased out of the Kansas City offense.
McKinnon is second on the Chiefs in red-zone targets. This week, they’ll be missing key receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman. That’s 35% of targets suddenly becoming available.
I almost went with wide receiver Justin Watson, but McKinnon is my pick on Sunday night.

I’m going back to Herbert.
The Chargers’ visit to Kansas City in Week 2 will be remembered for Herbert suffering a rib injury. It looks like he’s fully recovered, but he hasn’t run for a touchdown yet this season. Last week against the 49ers, though, Herbert had two red-zone carries.
Part of why we’re betting this is Herbert’s impressive track record against the Chiefs. He has three touchdowns in five career games against the AFC West leaders.
