Rams vs Titans NFL Week 2 Preview

Last week, I took the Titans +8.5 against Denver. It was ugly, but it paid off, as the Broncos managed to escape with an 8-point victory, but it wasn't enough to cover the spread and Tennessee bettors cleaned up.

The Titans' Week 1 matchup was a nightmare on paper. Cam Ward was making his first NFL start, and they were on the road to face one of the best defenses in the NFL in altitude right out of the gate — and the Titans still managed to cover the spread.

Despite the questionable coaching situation, I think this Titans team is much better than it was last year, and while they aren't getting quite as many points on the spread against the Rams in Week 2, I still think they are undervalued in the betting market.

The Rams are going to play a lot more low-scoring games this year than we are usually accustomed to seeing from them. Last week's 14-9 slugfest against the Texans was likely just the tip of the iceberg.

Matthew Stafford continues to deal with a lingering back injury, and it's going to be difficult for him any time he has to operate under pressure.

He looked great at times last week — other times, not so great. On the other side of the ball, the Rams' defense remains solid.

Rams vs Titans Prediction, Betting Analysis

I'm running it back again with the Titans in Week 2.

The first week of the season is always a rollercoaster. Weird stuff happens. And the Rams were incredibly fortunate to escape with a victory against Houston last week.

The Texans trailed by a score of 14-9 and drove all the way down to L.A.'s  25-yard line with less than two minutes left in the game, only to have their chances of winning squashed by Dare Ogunbowale losing a fumble to seal the deal for the Rams in crunch time.

Last week's game could've very easily swung the other way for Sean McVay's squad, and if it did, I'm not so sure we would be seeing the Rams laying 5.5 points on the road against Tennessee in this spot.

It seemed like Cam Ward woke up a little bit late in last week's game, which is no surprise for a rookie making his debut.

Give me the Titans to cover the spread again this week.

Pick: Titans +5.5 (-110)

Spread

My Titans vs Rams betting prediction is on Tennessee to cover the spread at +5.5.

Moneyline

I'm not interested in the moneyline market in this spot.

Over/Under

I will also be staying away from the total in this matchup.
