NFL Week 3 gets going with a Thursday Night Football NFC tilt between the Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. Packers vs. Falcons will stream live tonight on Prime Video at 8:15 p.m. ET.

Packers vs Falcons Preview
The Falcons get not one, but two quarterbacks back for Thursday Night Football — 2024 first-round pick Michael Penix Jr. is starting tonight, while Tua Tagovailoa will also be active for his first game. Tagovailoa was supposed to start Week 1, but an oblique injury derailed that plan.
Nevertheless, Penix/Tagovailoa is a massive quarterback upgrade over Cooper Rush, who started the first two games of the season — games the Falcons lost by a combined margin of 38 points. With Penix at the helm, the Falcons are only 4.5-point underdogs in Green Bay.
The Packers have their own problems. They just lost starting OT Zach Bako-Bewele for the season and are without offseason addition Aaron Banks for this game. The Packers entered the season with significant OL concerns, and these losses exacerbate them. WR Jayden Reed is also out after suffering a neck injury in Week 2.
Green Bay is still figuring out its offensive identity. Running the ball has been difficult through two games.
The Packers have a meager 129 yards on 39 carries (3.3 YPC), with no rushing touchdowns. The absence of Josh Jacobs, along with their unstable OL, is causing an imbalanced offense for QB Jordan Love. Love's 52.1% completion rate would be a much bigger concern if he didn't have a quality 7.5 Y/A and 5.6% TD rate.
The Falcons enter this game with a significant advantage in their rushing attack and within the trenches.
However, they are down yet another EDGE — Samson Ebukam is expected to miss this game, which compounds the losses of Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr.
Atlanta is also without star CB A.J. Terrell for at least the next four games. Its secondary will be extremely vulnerable to the explosive WR duo of Christian Watson and Matthew Golden.
Meanwhile, the Packers will attempt to continue integrating RB Kaleb Johnson into the offense. Johnson looked solid in Week 2, but he will have to manage behind a weaker offensive line tonight. Luckily, the Falcons' defensive line is weaker than the Jets' front.

This game will hinge on Love's ability to stay upright. His sack rate this season (8.97%) is about double his career rate (4.49%). This is likely due to Green Bay's aforementioned OL issues.
Love has also stayed behind the line of scrimmage this year — he only has one rush attempt through two games. We should expect this to change after the loss of multiple offensive linemen. Love will be forced out of the pocket tonight due to a Falcons front that has a 45% pressure rate without blitzing.
Between this, Love's higher rushing rate at home, and the likelihood of Green Bay winning (and causing Love to take a knee or two at the end of the game), he is a good bet to hit his OVER 2.5 rush attempts.
With Green Bay rightfully favored, expect the Falcons to throw more tonight.
Cooper Rush and rookie Jack Strand combined for 54 pass attempts through the first two games. Penix averaged 36.2 passes per game in losses before his Week 11 injury last season.
Atlanta will heavily rely on star RB Bijan Robinson tonight, but that could also come in the form of quick, short passes.
Most importantly, Penix will potentially breathe life into star WR Drake London, who has an unacceptable line of six receptions, 80 yards, and 0 touchdowns thus far. London had six TDs in nine games, while averaging 6.7 catches and 90 yards per game, with Penix in 2025.
This QB/WR duo has a special connection. Eight of London's 22 career touchdowns have come from Penix despite the QB starting in just 12 of London's 64 career games. In a game script that should require passing, London's anytime TD odds (+200) are worth filing in tonight's parlay.
Finally, Kyle Pitts should have his share of looks from Penix as well.
Pitts averaged 4 1/2 receptions per game with Penix starting in 2025 and could carry that over into TNF. Between the likely game script and this duo's connection, he should be a focal point for this offense.
Pitts' one catch through two games keeps his receiving line of 3.5 lower than usual. Add it as the final leg of this parlay at (-114).
