Packers vs Panthers Preview
The Green Bay Packers host the Carolina Panthers for this week's edition of Thursday Night Football. Both teams are fresh off a Week 7 divisional loss, but the Packers were at least in a nail-biter instead of a blowout.
Carolina lost by 30 in a demoralizing matchup against a Buccaneers offense that attempted 11 total passes. Tampa Bay rushed 49 times for 253 yards and three touchdowns against a Panthers run defense that ranks 21st in DVOA (via FTN) heading into TNF.
This segues into our first play of the game.
Josh Jacobs is likely to hit his over 59.5 rushing yards (-108), regardless of his Week 7 activation and short week of rest after a 16-touch game. Jacobs' offseason misconduct kept him off the field for six weeks, but he may not have lost a step, despite just 36 yards on 11 carries in his season debut.
The Packers' offensive line is a weakness, but they have signed veteran reinforcements (Laken Tomlinson and Kevin Zeitler) in recent weeks. Zeitler could step in and spark the run game this week. However, his role is unconfirmed.
The Packers are 3.5-point favorites and host a Carolina team that will be playing in one of the harsher road environments in football. Green Bay has a winning season at home every year since 2017 (4-4). This advantage is one of the most notable in the NFL, if not the most notable.

Rising QB Bryce Young had his worst game of the season in Week 7, but he should bounce back with WR2 Jalen Coker active (he exited the Buccaneers game due to a shoulder issue).
Nevertheless, Young is prone to making mistakes. He has a higher career interception rate on the road (2.2%) and has thrown 30 of his 34 career interceptions in losses.
The Packers' pass defense is the fourth-best in the NFL this season, and they lead the league in interceptions (nine). Add Bryce Young Anytime INT (-102) as the second leg of this parlay.
Lastly, we are taking Young's INT prop largely because we can expect the Panthers to throw tonight. Even though RB Chuba Hubbard is fresh after a light 11-touch game, his offensive line will be at a disadvantage against the Packers' defensive line (5th-worst in Week 8 via FantasyPoints).
Expect the Panthers to rely on star WR Tetairoa McMillan. He has a fantastic matchup against a zone-heavy defense that plays the third-most two-high safety formations in football.
McMillan's yards per route run jump against zone coverage and when teams play two-high. Also, he has 31 targets in the past three weeks and is averaging 85.2 yards per game.
With his line at 71.5 receiving yards and Jalen Coker potentially playing more of a decoy role after his shoulder injury, take McMillan to hit his over (-113) as the final leg of this parlay.
