Panthers vs Packers Spread Prediction
The return of Josh Jacobs didn’t alleviate the pressure put upon the shoulders of Jordan Love to carry the Packers offense.
However, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur should be able to open up the entire playbook for tonight's matchup. The Panthers defense ranks last in the NFL in expected points added (EPA) per rush, surrendering 5.5 yards per carry.
With the Packers operating outside of their usual one-dimensional dropback pass game mode, it will give Love the benefit of play-action in more situations and deter the Panthers from disguising coverage as often as they’d like to.
Love has been highly efficient with the usage of play-action through seven games. He has a 122.0 passer rating with the use of a run fake, with his yards per attempt increasing from 6.7 to 8.7.
Green Bay's defense is playing well despite a bump in the road in a tough spot at Detroit and is rounding into one of the best units in the league. The Packers boast the fourth-best unit in yards per play and generate turnovers on nearly 17% of the opposing team's possessions — the highest rate in the NFL.
With the Panthers' offensive line in turmoil, it is difficult to envision a significant improvement from their output a week ago in their blowout loss versus Tampa Bay.
Carolina has opened the 2026 season with an aggressive approach — only one team in the league has a higher pass rate over expectation. This will play right into the hands of Jonathan Gannon’s defense — Green Bay ranks top five in both EPA/pass and adjusted net yards per attempt.
Pick: Packers -3.5 (-112); bet to -4
Panthers vs Packers Over/Under & SGP
By Billy Ward
We learned a lot about the Packers in Week 7.
Some of it was very encouraging: they held the explosive Lions to a season-low 20 points! Detroit was, and is, averaging over 30 points per game, so the Packers defense being able to shut them down to that extent was a great sign for that unit.
On the other hand, Green Bay only managed to put up 17 points against a Lions defense that gives up over 27 PPG, and came into that contest ranked dead last in effectively every measure of passing defense. Jordan Love averaged just over six yards per attempt, multiple drives stalled out in the red zone, and the Packers missed two field goals of less than 35 yards – the rest of the league has missed just one of those all season.
Now, they’re back home for an outdoor game at Lambeau FIeld against a Panthers defense that is statistically similar to Detroit’s. On top of that, the interior of the Packers' offensive line is a mess – they are missing their first- and second-string centers, as well as their starting right guard, none of which will do any favors for a struggling run game.
Plus, the Panthers offense, while solid, is a massive step down from the Lions. Not only should they score fewer points than Detroit, but a less explosive opponent will allow the Packers to play more conservatively, leaning on what has been an ineffective rushing attack.
With the total swelling to 47.5, I love the under here. I’m also on Carolina +3.5, in part thanks to the highly-publicized trend of teams struggling ATS after playing the Lions.
A short week likely only exacerbates that, especially with Green Bay’s injuries. My official pick is Under 47.5 at -118 via FanDuel, but an SGP of the under and Panthers spread gets to +236.
Pick: Under 47.5 (-118)
Same-Game Parlay: Under 47.5 + Panthers +3.5 (+236)
Bryce Young Player Props
By Brit Devine
We saw Bryce Young and the Panthers offense come crashing back down to Earth in Week 7 against the Buccaneers — and I think they could continue struggle to find the end zone tonight.
Young has played much better at home in his career. With a short week on the road in Green Bay, he's looking at the bad half of his home/road split tonight.
The Packers have only allowed more than a single passing touchdown just twice in seven games. Last season, Young had a horrible game against the Packers, throwing for just 102 yards and no touchdowns with an interception.
Green Bay has been one of the better defenses at limiting explosive plays, which should take away most of the opportunity of a big play breaking for a long TD.
Despite not having Micah Parsons, the Packers defense has been rather solid and should be able to limit the damage done in the passing game in this one. Young was running very hot to start the season and should regress more toward his play in previous seasons than continuing to play like one of the best in the NFL.
Pick: Bryce Young Under 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-120)
MarShawn Lloyd Props
By Derek Carty
There is a value opportunity on MarShawn Lloyd's rush attempts prop.
THE BLITZ is projecting him to record 4.51 rush attempts, while sportsbooks imply 6.55. The model believes there is a 68% chance he records fewer than 5.5 rush attempts, so there is some value on the under at -103.
This play is good down to at least -146.

Pick: MarShawn Lloyd Under 5.5 Rush Attempts (-103; good to -146)
Jalen Coker Anytime Touchdown Pick
Jalen Coker only has two TDs this season and hasn't scored since week 1, but given his robust role, he's due for some heavy positive regression.
Coker actually has a larger target share than Tetairoa McMillan and would likely have a similar amount of targets if he didn't miss a game and a half due to injuries.
The Packers have allowed the seventh-most receiving yards and six touchdowns to receivers this season. I have the true odds on Coker at around +170.
Pick: Jalen Coker Anytime Touchdown (+215)
